Life in Europe, US and other developed countries is in mousetrap of oil.
The mousetrap is a city. A place where without oil You could hardly live a week. “Nothing special” You would say – “Cities existed thousands of years…” Thats correct by what we strive for, our ancestors had – a recycle system of energy supply.
As from the middle of 20th century, oil and gas was easy acceptable by purchase or take over of resources, many of humanity was migrating to the easier way of life – city. Cities became as huge as some states 10 and more mils of people.
Cities provides place for craftsman, trader, politician, scientist, servants for 4 mentioned above. As cost of living in the city increases – less and less people live with comfort there. Or You have to earn (or bring more value) to Your customers to maintain the same level of comfort.
So check how good are You in crafts or trade, governance or science. Are You among best 100? That is is of people who will remain living in the city.
Where will others go? 1 kg of oil = 80-120 hours of work (12 kilowatt hour vs 0.2 killowat hour). To replace oil energy, humanity will have to invent or produce a lot of substitutes. To invent better solar energy transforming systems, electric transport, infrastructure. To produce petrol of wheat, diesel of rape, heating of wood. This is the new place for or mental or physical worker.
