For many of You word Discipline and Liberty are extremely different things.
Especially in work. Who believes, that discipline creates liberty?
I do!

Lets understand the source of motive of discipline ?

  • Why manager wants the discipline? That employee works more. At least as much as agreed in labor agreement.
  • Why “work more” is important? – because manager presumes, that you will create more value.
  • Why that value is so important? – because value might be sold and money received.
  • For what are these money? – for You as salary,  your managers’ salary, supplier as credit payment,  investor as risk payment.

You see – You are the part of discipline chain, because manager presumes, that discipline pays you salary.

Please pay attention, that break of that sequence leads to bankrupt and a lot of businessmen fear more bankrupt than love profit. The same level as much of us fair more death than believe in eternal life.

Now lets check another side. What is a liberty?
Liberty is to do what you want and what you have agreed to You family, work, community. Wanted and agreed – together.

Of course each of these components (You, Family, Boss, Tax inspector) drags You to his side. That part – “what I agreed to do” feels most uncomfortable. But check, what you agreed to do is for what you will get. Work for salary, family for children, community for common wealth and security.

So things You want or agreed to do is the same, difference is that “agreed” is what you wanted earlier and now pay time, while “want” is what you want instantly now!

What a mistake is to remember a momentum liberty and forget long promises of the past.

Who decides about time
You are the only to decide what You want totally (wanted before and now) and distribute Your time according to Your will.

So, how to implement more liberty with more discipline in work?

  1. You have to know exactly what You want AND wanted.
  2. You have to fulfill obligation balanced to You and others; say do work in Your job for Your salary
  3. Manager has to know that you work and create agreed value
  4. This is done when You track You time and results and regularly show them to manager
  5. Then it is clear how much You have worked and how much earned. Manager is free of discipline fear  of You. If he wants to check efforts or value (what is important when sharing money) – there is evidence to verify. It is transparent, clear and works!

To master the balance of life (dedicate time for past or current wants) is to master Your Time.

Yes, it is called time management. Master of time is disciplined and liberal man at once. Are You such?
